Costs & estimates

What it costs, and why we will not guess.

Every medical-travel site publishing a price range is guessing, because the number depends on your reports. A guess is what gets revised upward once you have landed. We quote instead — free, in writing, with the exclusions on the same page as the inclusions.

What an estimate contains

Eight lines, every time.

  • The procedure and the surgeon's fee
  • Room category and the expected number of nights
  • Pre-admission diagnostics — and which of them you can do at home for less
  • Implants and consumables, named where the choice affects the price
  • Attendant accommodation
  • Airport or station transfers, and local transport for review appointments
  • A recovery stay, if the surgeon advises one
  • Our coordination fee, stated separately [CONFIRM]

What it excludes

And why we print that too.

Complications
Unplanned intensive care is genuinely unpredictable. Any site pretending otherwise is misleading you.
Extra procedures
Anything found necessary after examination, agreed with you before it is done.
Travel
Your flights, visa fees and insurance.
Personal expenses
And any stay extended beyond the plan.

How to read a medical estimate.

Four questions that separate a real estimate from a headline number — ask them of us, and of everyone else you are considering.

01

Is the implant named?

"Knee implant" can mean a threefold price range. A real estimate names the make and model it is priced on.

02

What if I stay two days longer?

Ask for the per-day rate for the room, nursing and consumables before you agree to anything.

03

What does the itemised bill look like?

Ask for the format in advance. A hospital that will not show you one before admission will not enjoy showing you one after.

04

Who pays for a repeat scan?

Imaging done elsewhere is often repeated on arrival. Settle in writing whose cost that is.

Payment

You pay the hospital, not us.

No payment is ever made to HealthTour Odisha for treatment. Hospital charges are paid to the hospital, against the hospital's own invoice, and you should have that invoice in your hand. [CONFIRM payment and fee flow before launch]

If anyone contacts you claiming to represent this site and asks for money into a personal account, it is not us. Write to [email protected] and tell us.

Send your reports and the dates you are considering. The written estimate is free and takes two to four days.

Questions

About money.

Is the estimate free?

Yes. The specialist's written opinion on your reports and the itemised estimate that follows both cost nothing, and neither commits you to anything.

Will the final bill match the estimate?

For a planned procedure that goes as planned, yes — partners agree that the written estimate is the price. It changes when clinical findings change the treatment, and in that case the variation must be explained and consented to before it is incurred, not discovered at discharge.

Do you accept insurance?

Insurance arrangements are the hospital's and vary by partner and by policy. Send your policy details with your reports, and the estimate will state whether that partner can process it as cashless, as reimbursement, or not at all. [CONFIRM]
